Sally Walker

Working within the IT industry since 1995 she enjoys and embraces new technology whether it is through journalism, writing, social media management, branding or design.

As a designer, Sally has designed 100′s of websites, blogs, logos, full re-brands and communities. Designs WordPress and Blogger themes/templates.  She also creates digital art and creates digital scrapbooks (memory books).  Sally actively develops applications, modules and plug-ins for scripts and websites such as WordPress, SMF, Facebook, MySpace, phpBB, mIRC and more.

As a SEO consultant, Sally uses her knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation to ensure that websites, blogs and communities are seen by search engines and that rankings are achieved using organic methods.

As a social media marketing and brand manager, Sally uses social media and various other forms of networking communities to communicate vital information to companies concerning brand awareness, public perception, reviews of their products/services and studies trends and competitor comments. Her knowledge of branding and identity offer businesses, no matter how big or small, the exposure they deserve.

As a writer and journalist, Sally’s articles have been published in Reuters, USAtoday, FoxNews, ABC Magazine, Chicago Sun Times, BlogNosh Magazine and more, as well as being a successful entrepreneur and ‘mumpreneur’ running businesses from start up to sale.  Sally also writes on various parenting, green living and food topics.

As an IT server support consultant, Sally also owns, runs and manages many Linux based servers that use Unix controlled cPanel dashboards for various companies and corporations not only in the UK but globally using remote systems. Ensuring that email addresses are created and maintained, websites are hosted and scripts and applications remain up to date with current versions. Sally also supports WordPress as an outsource WordPress engineer.

Background

Wife of 1, mum of 2, geek, foodie, cook and all round natural living lover. Starting in banking straight out of school, Sally soon discovered a passion for IT, qualifying as a financial advisor before joining Citibank’s Fraud Investigation Team as the resident geek. Sometime later she found herself thoroughly bored, so spent some time within voluntary organisations working with Autistic, Asperger and Down Syndrome children, which inspired her to set up children’s entertainment business Funkalicious Faces. It went off like a rocket, at its peak doing large-scale gigs, such as Walt Disney’s ‘Finding Nemo’ UK launch and The Lord Mayor’s Show in London. During this time Sally also studied complimentary health and became a qualified practitioner in 1999 and advanced practitioner in 2007 and also ran her own web design company.

Sally became one of the first people to create software applications with mIRC’s scripting for chat rooms and channelsShe also now writes and creates modules and applications for Facebook, InvisionBoard, phpBB, SMF, designs websites, creates social networks and produces blog templates and themes that are as unique as she is.

Sally’s web design company, soon evolved into her own branded business ‘Sally Walker Creative Media‘. With her writing and journalism, she has had her articles featured in such publications as Reuters, USA today, FOX news, Eva Magazine, Chicago Post Tribune, ABC Magazine and many more.
