Today sees the release of the second beta version of the new WordPress 3.0.   As you can imagine, I ran to the download page and installed this on a my beta WordPress lab and excitedly started to press buttons!

This beta release comes from the huge success of the post-WordCamp San Francisco code sprint, and beta testers will not be disappointed.

Version 3, so far, has a sleeker admin dashboard and a few new features that involve header menus which allow custom links to be added, category/tags conversion and a more flexible exporter/importer.

You can download the new WordPress 3.0 Beta 2 release here or if you already have a beta test installation of WordPress then you can use this plugin to upgrade you to the new beta.   Remember, please do not install a beta to a live install, just in case ;)

I shall enjoy testing this over the weekend and look forward to passing on my review in the future.
