YouTube has teamed up with Channel 4 to offer full length TV shows hosted on through the huge video network. New content will be added by Channel 4 and other new partnerships such as BBC Worldwide, Turner Broadcasting, ITN, Classic Media, FremantleMedia, North One and Al Jazeera.
YouTube viewers are already able to see full length episodes of Father Ted, The IT Crowd and over 5000 videos, varying between clips and full shows on the new YouTube Show Channel.
Patrick Walker, YouTube’s Director of Video Partnerships commented “The YouTube community has always enjoyed the vibrant range of video on the site, from amateur make-up videos to professional TV highlights and everything in between. The Shows section of the site will make it easier for users to discover videos from the biggest names in British broadcasting, and help our content partners reach new audiences and generate new revenues.”
